about us
The Changing Lives Showcase was established in 2011 by Josiah Bruny, CEO and Founder of Music Changing Lives, with the intention of creating a platform for emerging young musicians and artists to showcase their masterpieces. The Changing Lives Showcase offered a free event for artists 5-19 years old, produced by Music Changing Lives, in collaboration with the Moreno Valley Unified School District. The Changing Lives Showcase started as a 21-week after-school music and art enrichment program. Artists could compete in 5 categories including: Vocal, Dance, DJ, Instrumentals, and Visual Art. The artists were also encouraged to play original music and all art entries are original pieces.
The Changing Lives Showcase continues to provide this exceptional platform, to serve underprivileged and at-risk youth within the Riverside County and San Bernardino County school districts. The purpose of The Showcase is to engage musically and artistically talented individuals to stay in school and focus on their education for their future. By providing key programs including music, art, tutoring, mentoring and financial literacy as incentives, MCL hopes to continue to change students' negative perception of school.
At the completion of the program, students can enter the Changing Lives Showcase competition which will include students from Riverside County and San Bernardino County. Students submit works of visual or performing arts to compete in the selection of who is the best at music and art. The artwork will be judged by a panel of local artists and celebrity guests. Additionally, awards are presented to students who have shown academic achievements in GPA, attendance, and most improved overall.
We are now raising funds to continue supporting our youth during the 2022-23 academic school year, through the Changing Lives Showcase. Our goal is to host various concerts and mini-series with children and youth from around the world and to provide even greater access to music and art across the globe. We aim to provide social and emotional healing through the arts during these trying times.
